Canary Islands 2004

Here are the most beautyful pictures I took on the islands La Palma and Tenerife during the first half of my trip to the Canary Islands on September 10-19. If you want to see pictures I took on the island Gran Canaria in the second half of my trip (about the wedding of Katka and Gerardo as well as about all the friends who came to join the wedding) please contact Gerardo!

In the Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente (La Palma island), one can still see the lines of the chimneys in which the lava came out of the volcano.

These are the pictures of the amazing landscape that surounds el Teide, which is the highest peak of Spain with its 3718m. The pathes are wery well marked and wherever you look, you see clouds below.

From the top of el Teide one can see virtually all the island and if the weather is clear, also many of the other islands.

Below, on the coast, is Puerto de la Cruz, the major city of the north.

Looking towards the east, behind the clouds and the sea, one can see the mountains of Gran Canaria.

... and another view of Gran Canaria from a bit further down from the peak, just from the Altavista cottage.
