In medias res: Dani, our hero, prepares for the mortal
jump with an extremely brave expression on his face.
The story: End of May, we went canoeing with some friends along
Danube river, via Szentendre (the famous artists' city), but
we did not get any further from the Lupa Island where we found
an excellent seesaw designed to swing people into the water.
We had to go for it, demonstrating some mortal jumps before
setting off again. Mortal jumps are done in the following manner:
1: catch the seesaw with one hand (left above)
2: hold yourself steady by leaning your head well against something
stable (right above)
3: catch the seesaw with both hands (left below)
4: in the meantime smile, still holding yourself firm by your
head - otherwise you'll fall (below) |

...and even if you don't smile anymore, just hold yourself damn
well (below): |
...than swing and ACTIOOOON:
... and JUMP!
If you're really good you can hold yourself on the seesaw by
your heel (left):
... but always watch the timing of your jump (below):
... than please let others swing as well ...
... and ACTIOOOON
everyone gives it a try...
... except for Adri, who made no jump but helped bring back
a boat "on the run".
After a tough two-hour swinging on the Lupa Island we had no more
time to reach Szentendre so we had to turn back ... after having
taken a rest to recover from swinging. |
